Dear Temple,
I would like to invite you all to a weekly session exploring Buddhist teachings and the Dharma. Sessions will be kept short, 50 minutes, with 5 minutes to log in, and 5 to wrap up - so 1 hour in total, starting at 1600 Eastern Standard Time on Sundays.
No minutes will be recorded, and there will be no pressure to catch up, rather a personal responsibility to read and think over the materials in the week before the chat. If people wish to keep notes in personal journals that is optional. The material that will be worked through will be the Mitra studies of the Triratna Buddhist community, freely available at: https://thebuddhistcentre.com/mitra/
Everyone will be considered a learner in these discussions, they are not taught sessions, they are simply fellowship gathering to share ideas as people explore.
The meetings will be audio, spoken, hosted via the Praxeum discord ( https://discordapp.com/invite/akDBNbu ), and we look forward to seeing you there. The team would be grateful if you would contact us in advance to show your interest in participating before the first session on the 6th of January. If you have any questions, please contact Twigga, Thomaswfawlkner, Raxicorico, or JLSpinner.

Warning: Spoiler!
There is passion, yet there is peace
Through passion I gain strength and knowledge
Through strength and knowledge I gain victory
Through victory I gain peace and harmony
Through peace and harmony my chains are broken
There is no death, there is the force and it shall free me

For those interested in attending these sessions, this is a polite reminder to check over and prepare your microphone setup on the discord server - to check that you are able to use it there, and that there are no odd glitches in the setup. This will allow the sessions to easily run to time. Many thanks!

Greetings members of TotJO!
As Twigga is on leave for the next couple of weeks, I will be hosting the dharma studies session on the Praxeum discord this week. I would like to invite any interested parties to join in the discussion. This week we delve further into the mythology of the Buddha and the life of Siddhartha in the chapter called "The Mythic Buddha", which may be viewed in the attachment.
If you have the time and the interest, come join us this Sunday at 16:00 EST. Here's a time zone converter, if you don't know when that is in your local time:

Excellent discussion in last week's dharma studies session with topics ranging from Joseph Campbell to Buddhist metal bands. This Sunday we will be finishing our analysis of the mythology surrounding the Buddha in our analysis of the text "The Buddha we can contact." Same time, same place! If you have any questions or cannot make it but would like to contribute to the discussion, feel free to pm me. Here's the document:
Hope to see you there!

As we haven't heard anything from Twigga, I'm just going to make the announcement: dharma studies will be happening again this Sunday at 16:00 EST, taking place in the Study Hall Voice of the Praxeum discord for ~ 1 hour. This week we will be beginning the two-week unit on the dharma itself, beginning with the text "The Dharma: The Basic Analysis"
Here's the text:
If you cannot make it but would like to contribute your comments for the rest of the group, feel free to PM me your contributions.
Hope to see you there!

Greetings members of TotJO!
Last Sunday we completed part 1 of the dharma studies, meaning that this coming Sunday we will be making a fresh start with part 2 of the dharma studies. For those who are interested in joining, but were worried about having fallen behind, this is a great place to hop in. The topic will be "Why be ethical?". Here's the text:
The sessions will be hosted on the Study Hall Voice in the Praxeum at 4 pm EST. Here's a time zone converter (there was some confusion related to this due to daylight savings time, so be sure to double check the time for your time zone):
