When it said at the start 'a group of Star Wars fans' what further relevance did you think it had here? ;)

We have a few 'frisco, CA people here. Thought it'd be fun to check out.

I heard a rumor that we had a SW fan, or two, amongst our ranks. (I hope that doesn't *technically* "out" anyone here!)

@Ren, yes to laugh is "good for both the mind and the body"...but to mock?, is this really Jedi? The CoJ council members are just that...CoJ council members, their members are not. @ Metsu as for poaching ppl from groups....i prefer to see it as enlightening them....in that there are other places...not preaching or "soapboxing" to them, just letting them know kindred spirits that can be found elsewhere. My point of joining here was one of curiosity...the ToTJO has a reputation in the community of being compared to that of Catholicism. That said, after speaking to some members such as Akkarin on other sites, i took the plunge. I see a wealth of knowledge here, and some great people. I have not been poached, i have been enlightened :)

Considering what they did to my (our) religion, i think a good laugh is probably the nicest thing we could have done.

They also tried to buy us with donations btw.

It wasn't behind the scenes. Them trying to trademark jediism wasn't behind the scenes either though it was lucky I checked the trademark office...

Before they started the church, they made a video of a jedi service or something... guess where they got the material from.... Then, they go and claim they're the first church of jediism lol.

I would say that they were trying to make us feel as though they could provide for us if we became one of their chapters.

I agree that it probably wasn't to "buy us out", but I disagree that it was to show us they could care for us. I think it was a show of "look how great we are."

Without a doubt. But maybe their view of arrogance is different in this matter. They probably think they have a "duty" to fold us in. To them that may not be arrogant, just something they feel is needed.

Still sad though that there is any them or us...the Force takes no sides, it cares not for the quarrels of man

Agreed, but they can see the force as being on their side. Like most holy wars (not saying there is or should be a war), one side or both will think god(the Force) is on their side. We see the neutrality of the Force, they may not.

The man who thinks the force is on his side, has lost his path. Much like those who say it is the will of the force....the force has no will nor does it need it. We can draw from it, harness it, attune to it, listen to it....but what we fail to see is we "are" the human aspect of the force. Harmony and compassion, mankinds greatest tools, use them freely.....our physical life is short, yet such gestures outlive our physical vessel. Do not worship the force, but recognize you are the force...make your part of the force be positive.
