Oh yes, definitely CoJ then. big media sensation, never achieved anything. They'd asked us if we wanted to be one of their chapters, we laughed.

Cause life is amusing...;)

We also offered to let them join us...;)

They were not receptive to that as well...

They had nothing to offer, honestly...

We have members, and a small (turtle, we are called by some) community, and are self sufficent, member-wise...

It seemed they merely wanted a position of power, they didnt want to do the FREE training we offered, but we could do their AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE training...

The founders do not seem too serious... I feel sorry for the membership over there...

On walk-about...

Then why not communicate with their members to get them to come over here? If their population fell, it would have given them something to think about.

Because we are not poachers...it would be a contradiction to ban poaching of our members to then go do it ourselves.

So if i talked to a member from another group of Jedi and spoke to them about us, only after they tried to get me in their group. They were interested and continued talking to me and finally became members here. That would make me a poacher? Simply talking to them without setting out to "convert" them to me is not poaching.

Unless i did not enunciate exactly what i meant.

Did you try to convince them?

Did you 'sell' it/us?

NO? thats fine...

As you will see after some time here... There are a core of us that dedicate our time here to make totjo the best we feel it can be...

I honestly cant be bothered with convincing others to join...

If I try to tell you about long division, you will soon tire, you are not interested enough to listen to some guy drone on...

However, if I tell you the easiest way to do a 540 on a snowboard, you might listen better...;)

Only people who are unsatisfied with their current site will join here/leave their site...

We are only one alternative, and many wont/dont like us, thats ok, their loss, lol...

I liken trying to convince people to becoming a Jedi, like the Jehovah's Witnesses going door to door, asking if you believe in Christ...

Purely a judgment call, but I think you will find most will be turned off by the conversation...

Just my opinion, as is everything I say, lol...

Why not? It's good for both the mind and the body. Besides, it was hilarious. :silly:

When it said at the start 'a group of Star Wars fans' what further relevance did you think it had here? ;)

We have a few 'frisco, CA people here. Thought it'd be fun to check out.

I heard a rumor that we had a SW fan, or two, amongst our ranks. (I hope that doesn't *technically* "out" anyone here!)

@Ren, yes to laugh is "good for both the mind and the body"...but to mock?, is this really Jedi? The CoJ council members are just that...CoJ council members, their members are not. @ Metsu as for poaching ppl from groups....i prefer to see it as enlightening them....in that there are other places...not preaching or "soapboxing" to them, just letting them know kindred spirits that can be found elsewhere. My point of joining here was one of curiosity...the ToTJO has a reputation in the community of being compared to that of Catholicism. That said, after speaking to some members such as Akkarin on other sites, i took the plunge. I see a wealth of knowledge here, and some great people. I have not been poached, i have been enlightened :)

Considering what they did to my (our) religion, i think a good laugh is probably the nicest thing we could have done.

They also tried to buy us with donations btw.

It wasn't behind the scenes. Them trying to trademark jediism wasn't behind the scenes either though it was lucky I checked the trademark office...

Before they started the church, they made a video of a jedi service or something... guess where they got the material from.... Then, they go and claim they're the first church of jediism lol.

I would say that they were trying to make us feel as though they could provide for us if we became one of their chapters.

I agree that it probably wasn't to "buy us out", but I disagree that it was to show us they could care for us. I think it was a show of "look how great we are."
