No, I'm asking for a subforum where people can discuss controversial matters, fight, rant... whatever, without all this "empathetic listening" and so on. It would keep all this type of content to that forum only, hence the benefit.

Back in the good old days (pre 2017) that's what this entire forum was, until everyone got chased away or just gave up (myself included).

I love a good discussion on a controversial topic, but I'm not sure it would be as snarky/fighty/ranty as you'd actually like it to be. I mean, if it were a Sith forum then yes there would be plenty of snark, but for the majority of Jedi here who can deal with discussing the kind of topics you want, we're pretty good at keeping things relatively calm and rational.

Nothing wrong with calm and rational. However, I also enjoy people being real and expressing their feelings. Can’t we have both?

Fair. The only way I can see getting around the ToS on site, would be set up a private group chat, on the PM system, amongst a select few us to debate a set topic? But I don't think that really meets what you're wanting

Definately not, though as weird as it is, this place is more free than FA, and that's strange, considering the ToS here.

Probably because we only enforce the ToS on a case by case basis, using a common sense approach. It's more about following the spirit of it rather than the letter of it

We can, and we do. However, there is no separation between one and the other. There is no place one needs to go to either get one aspect of it or to avoid the other. You cannot just make a place for the open, honest, and hot-headed without simultaneously implying that the rest of the forums is "not for them". Where now all they have is merely their own moral outrage and impotent rage, by making such a "tough nut safe space" those who seek to disable what you and I might consider interesting discussions on topics with distinguishable opinions are granted actual formal legtimacy in their quest.
As I say, (and mark my words), all that can come of this is most of the forum turning into an extended sermons and journals section from whence any kind of clash is directed out into the "shark tank" while this new "shark tank" subforum devolves into a place considered to be a dump and where people increasingly quit caring to not behave as if that is exactly where they are.
What you suggest will - if my intuition is to be relied upon - destroy almost everything worthwhile about TOTJO. The only way one can have your shark tank and keep the Temple as it is, is by having this shark tank be an unofficial place somewhere else so that none can be directed there with reference to the official rules.
