Memorial Day: Day of Service October 24, 2017

Our next Day of Significance will be October 31, 2017, Memorial Day. As some of us will be otherwise occupied (with younglings and candy), our Day of Service will be October 24, 2017.
How will you remember those who have passed into the Force through your service?

During October I find time to visit graves and urns. I try to think about the memories I've had with those that are gone. Try to focus on the lessons they have taught me, even after their passing. This year I think of my father, my oldest friend, and my cousin.
The nature of their deaths inspires me to causes worthy of attention and focus. To fight against cancer and diabetes. And to raise awareness of suicide.
Also the local homeless shelters always need socks this time of year. Socks and blankets.
