What if I told you that your life is lived in conversation; the conversations you have with yourself, the conversations that you have with others, and the conversations that others have about you? Think about it, at the end of the day, the conversations are the only thing left.

Those conversations change over time and with society. Take for instance the perfect American housewife of the ’50s. She stayed at home, kept up with the house, raised the kids, and had dinner and a cocktail waiting for her husband to get home.

I wouldn’t suggest thinking that this will happen today.

Just like the women’s rights movement in the sixties and seventies changed the conversation of who women are in families and society, your daily conversations change how you live in this world. If your conversation is that you are an athlete, chances are you work out regularly and you love it. If you are a musician, you likely practice regularly.

So those are the easy ones. What are your conversations around inner confidence? What are your conversations around abundance? What are your conversations around self-worth?

Now, what would your friends and family say about you? What are their conversations?

How about your doctor? The Uber driver?

All of these conversations make up your life. Notice I didn’t say that they make up you. You are a living extension of the Force made manifest.

For close to twenty years, I ran restaurants and nightclubs. I am pretty good at it and that was the conversation of who I was. Yet, I knew there was something more. It has taken almost ten years to change everyone’s conversations about me and I still have some who say that I need to go back into a restaurant (including me at times).

All this to say, if you don’t like the life that you are living now, look at how you can change the conversation.

An interesting way of terming it as well, a conversation.
The way people often see us is not so much how we present ourselves but is mainly their interpretation of how we present ourselves. Those are the outer conversations and are much less important than our inner conversations which we privately have within ourselves.
I used to think of myself as a security officer and private investigator and also a martial arts instructor. Those were things I did and they also influenced how others precieved me but they were not me but only bits of the whole.
Thank you for your insights and the introspection that it should spur for us all.

Everything here written is exactly how I have lived my life ever since I left the military 38 going on 39 years ago.

I have met and dealt with a lot of people who when I tell them I am not a member of their religious beliefs they are shocked and I get the same response over and over again which is I act more like they believe those that follow that religion they name should be acting.

I come from humble upbringing in that I was born into poverty in the richest country in the world and yet the perception is it's of my choosing which I can tell you is not even close to being true. The laws of the land are definitely skewed in favor of those who have vs those who have not.

I have a very unique view of this because I have witnessed it first hand. Even today people don't understand how it is possible for anyone not to have an internet connection much less own a personal computer. Smart phones can breach this gap slightly but not enough to truly make a difference.

Jedi who have not observed this in their own lives truly can not understand. I once had plenty of belongings that might have raised me slightly up the class ladder but through circumstances once you have lost everything so often you simply just see those belongings as nothing more than a distraction of purpose. Things can be lost and replaced but you begin to realize after awhile that no matter how important personal posetions are at the time eventually you realize nothing not even posetions are permanent nor necessary other than the clothes on your back, a place to rest your head in peace and a place to stay dry and warm.

After you have faced all that I have faced including death of the body you literally have nothing to fear except for the passing without being noticed and this is where we all find ourselves today. We could pass at a moments notice and who would celebrate our passing?

It's just a thought.
