The US constitution says all men are created equal. Our country has overcome its share of issues such as granting women the right to vote as well as rights for black people. And we have overcome these things as evident by the first black presedent who was just elected. This is a great time in history for us all, On the same night while one group made a great victory as well as the rest of us another group was told we were not equal. I am speaking about the passage of Prop 8 which denies the right of same sex cuples to marry. Aparently some people are equal while others are not aparently we get to decide who is protected by our constatution and who isn't.

As Jedi it is our job to defend those groups who suffer injustice and lack of equality. Our own cread at this temple has this to say

"In working towards a culture that is relatively free of discrimination on the basis of gender, race, sexual orientation, national origin, degree of ability, age, etc."

we as jedi hold these truths to be self evident and if we did not take a stand agains this kind of equality then why are we jedi and what does our cread mean if we don't fallow it? Masters can teach the cread but it means nothing if we as jedi don't live by it.

thank you and MTFBWY

Thank you Bishop Chris. I asked you to post our sermon today on less than short notice and nobody could have said it better.

You are a great Jedi and well deserving of the highest of our Holy Orders.

Ah the big scary question. What are we going to do? We are not helpless sheep and when we see injustice we are doing (IT) already or at least it's a start. We are talking about it openly, not hiding it in a closet. This IT I speak of is the right...

Ah the big scary question. What are we going to do? We are not helpless sheep and when we see injustice we are doing (IT) already or at least it's a start. We are talking about it openly, not hiding it in a closet. This IT I speak of is the right to marry.
I have been wondering how we are a threat to anyones marrige and how could we destroy the institution of it.
I have been with my partner for almost 17 years longer then most of my friends, both of our parents use us as an example of a loving couple and hold us up very high.
Oh it was ruff at first our first wedding was a wait and see, to see if we would last. Ha! we did and long enough to be lucky enough to get married in California before the right was taken away.
As I am saddened that others can not do so we can to hVE the change to make the same mistakes in life. After all we are all human and it does say all men are created equal as well as women.
Nothing stays the same and we are all evolving for the greater good.
We should be more worried about the planet and our starving fellow human and the way we treat them as well as the future of our children.
The GLBT community want the same things in life Peace and harmony, We do not have a plot to turn your straight boys and girls in to anything that is left up to biology and God who made us all with the ability to love one another.
What can we do as Jedi be more visible and preach the Jedi truths in our documents, reinforce them with compassion when you hear something negative and replace it with something positive.
It may take a while but then as an African-American I never thought that I would live to see our first Black President, It would be great if he was labeled just American Citizen.
May The Force Be With each one of us and may we be the example of the light for those who need help.

I've said this many times, on many websites.

Nobody deserves to have special rights because of their sexual orientation.

And no one deserves to have their rights taken away because of it, either.

That's my political view.

Personally, I don't see why anyone would really care about what other people choose for themselves.

Gay marriage? SURE! Why not? Why does it have to be labeled as "Gay Marriage?" Shouldn't it just be a marriage? Two consenting adults should have the right to marry, regardless of whatever.

In my eyes, a legal adult is a legal adult. And a legal adult has the given right to make his/her own decisions that impact his/her own personal life. Bar fucking NONE.

So many people out there are clinging to the Bible as a reason why same-sex couples shouldn't marry. The Bible shouldn't even be considered. It's written in our constitution of the US that there is a separation of church and state. Again, BAR FUCKING NONE!

The way I look at it could be compared with an order of fries. Yeah. I like ketchup with my fries. Maybe you don't. Why would you care how I like to eat *MY* fries? *I'm* not putting *MY* ketchup on *YOUR* fries.

Shut up and eat your fries the way that you like to eat them. And let me decide how I want to eat my own.

My old boss and one of my best friends has been in a same-sex relationship for nearly as long as I have been married to my wife. I don't judge him. We're buddies. And I couldn't care less how he wants to eat his fries.

He's happy. That's what I care about.

Very well said, as a Jedi we have no right to discriminate and I agree that we should be more outspoken about our religious views about the topic since, after all, that is what is keeping it from being legal... the religious views on it. I say to...

Very well said, as a Jedi we have no right to discriminate and I agree that we should be more outspoken about our religious views about the topic since, after all, that is what is keeping it from being legal... the religious views on it. I say to each his own and nobody should have the right based on ANY religion, to tell a person who they can or can not be married to. May the force be with us all.
