I want to pay homage to Christopher Lee who died on Sunday of heart failure.

A great actor and musician whose films I loved.

This man was hardcore.
This man was a hero and an inspiration.
And while this man will be missed, the strength and power he imparted through each of his roles, the wit he brought to every interview and conversation, and his lovely singing voice will be remembered for as long as people still remember exactly what talent means.

I loved that guy and what an amazing life he had! A mix between James Bond, rock star and movie star. I have no idea how he pulled that all off. I tip my hat to this true inspiration.

Actually, he was James Bond's step-cousin. It's widely known that Ian Fleming based his novels on his time in naval intelligence, and the two (he and Lee) were related through someone's marriage along the line. He was also distantly related to Gen. Robert E. Lee and descended from Charlemagne.

Very few people can ever claim to have lived such an extraordinary and varied life, at the age of 93 no less. What a remarkable, talented man.

I'd posted a little something on the wall earlier concerning Sir Christopher Lee, I took it down soon after realizing he had passed away last Sunday. He stated his greatest achievement (besides that being his daughter Christina) was his involvement with the cinema classic "The Wicker Man" for which he refused to receive payment for. The movie was almost never released, the story behind it described by Lee in the DVD's commentary. If you have yet to watch this fine film, I highly recommend doing so, today if possible...

I've put out a call on Twitter to request that Disney Infinity 3.0: Star Wars be dedicated to the memory of the great Christopher Lee. In the overarching saga, Count Dooku may have been a less pivotal role in the main story arc of the film franchise, but he took what could have been a generic Lucas throwaway, gave it gravitas, and gave the rest of the Sith a lesson in how to stay classy. ;)

Speaking of James Bond, Lee did face him with his golden gun. Plus a brilliant swordsman in the four musketeers facing Michael York. In both early and later Hollywood, Lee was the man to beat with a blade. Christopher Lee was a great actor to watch growing up, he always brought an elegance to villainy plus he rocked the accent. I admit I rarely saw Lee play the hero but he played the bad guy so well.
