100th Anniversary of General Relativity

Today marks the 100th anniversary of Einstein's paper “Die Feldgleichungen der Gravitation,” or “The Field Equations of Gravitation" which described his General Theory of Relativity. Not to be confused with the Special Theory of Relativity published in 1905.

It is also the 150th anniversary of Maxwell's paper “A Dynamical Theory of the Electromagnetic Field,” which described the relationship between magnetism and electricity.

I read about this on Phil Plait's blog Bad Astronomy . Which I recommend reading anyway because he's awesome.
