People are registering on our site and recruiting by posts and PM's for persons to join startup Jedi sites. Some of these are kids and some are not.I never did that and never would do that and a person who does do that is just like a person going to a physical church and speaking during service or pestering members coming and going. Jedi do not degrade themselves like that. It's rude, childish, desperate and despicable. What is wrong with you people? (and you know who you are) .Our fee for such advertisements either by post or PM is $1,250 US and we will sue you for it and we will win. It's illegal too. You have the right to start a site for any purpose you wish and call yourself anything you wish withing the bounds of the law and human rights but you don't have the right to use TOTJO to facilitate it nor do you have the right to use our resources to enable it. 2010-02-2620:01:55 Please see New Members FAQ #24 (and all the others if you have not done so already)
Whilst we try and generally are a relaxed, chilled site - we do have rules.
As said above - we pay for this sites hosting - we are not a charity and we and especially Br.John have worked ****ing hard over the years to get this site where it is today.
freeloaders are not welcome. It is theft at the end of the day.
There are processes and procedures for having your won site 'advertised' or linked too from here - follow them and more often than not, you'll have your link hosted - subversive behaviour is not necessary.
Would you like me to glue a poster to your car or on your home advertising y services or product without asking your permission first? I doubt it.
Do you appreciate 'cold callers' at your door or on the telephone? How about SPAM emails and junk mail?
It's all the same.
Lecture over but I hope you see it and understand it from our point of view, We understand you may be excited about your new 'baby' or project and we wish anyone well with a new venture - but all it takes its a simple 'ask' or application to avoid trouble.

2010-02-2723:02:21 And is there protocol for this? Do I report it to a Temple Security Officer? I just deleted it from my inbox now I don't have it (unless it's in my recycle bin).
2010-02-2809:18:08 You don't need to report it and we don't need the PM. It's not that these things are any threat to TOTJO but to members who may think we endorse some outside venture.
It's just asthonishing that someone calls themselves a Jedi and then in the same breath acts so immorally and ill mannered.
Your trash is right where it belongs.
2010-02-2809:52:13 IF YOU are unhappy with this in your inbox - then by all means 'discuss' it with temple security.
IF YOU put it in your trash and thats how you wish to handle it - then that too is fine.
Temple Security isn't here as some form of secret police - were here to handle complaints if members have complaints.
As it happens _ I too had one of these in my inbox and chose to 'leave it be' - if you wish to visit this other site - that too is your decision, you dont have to use the same username - me personally - I really do not have the time (at present) to get involved with another site.
The choice is yours ;)
But if your unhappy with something in your inbox and feel strongly enough to talk to a Temple Security Officer about it - then thats enough to make temple security unhappy about it ;)
FAQ should answer questions about complaints - if anyone is still unclear - dont hesitate to contact me in the usual manner ;)
Don't use carrier pigeon - due to an increase in peregrine activity, im losing alot of mail at present
