ny fondest greetings to all, After a long absence, I have returned home to TOTJO. My abscense was caused by a illness which put me in the hospital for several weeks and almost took my life on three different occassions. Since then I have had along struggle to relearn everything such as walking talking,etc. during the recovery time I had decided to partake in a time of solitude for the purpose of examining my life and prioritizing stuff better. It took a long time for me to decide what things was helpful for my continued growth and what areas was important for me to focus on. Regardless to say, my spiritual studies have taken on a new sense of urgency that wasnt there before so I am eager to get back to my studies and conversations with fellow believers on here. I'm not sure how much has changed during my absence from TOTJO so if anyone wants to give me a headsup i'd appreciate it. I did see that the apprentice program has been updated and looks good to go so I will be trying to find my old journal posts and finishing that program soon. Best wishes to all and MTFBWY, Jarin
hey all, i finally got out of the hospital from my recent illneesses. I'm still extremely weak and sleeping alot so i cant stay on vvery long at any one time till i fully recover but at least now i am able to check in occasionally. I apologize to all the brethren jedi for my absence from the temple website for the last couple weeks. It seemed like everytime I sat down to get any online work done something came up that required my attention. Also, during this time, a hacker tried to hack into my laptop and got a virus through my firewalls. As such, I didn't want it to infect anyone else's system so I had to stay offline until I could have it remooved and verified that nothing on my computer was a threat to others computers or the temple's website. It wasn''t cheap but I finally got to do so and am back and looking forward to picking up where I left off. As for spiritual studies,I motly been working on applying what I know but have been reading in Sacred Journey of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman. A excellent read and in the book it has a chapter in which they discuss the "tower of self"....7 levels releating to the 7 chakras...alot of good informational stuff there about how each level can affect on personality and what the levels were designed to do as well as hints towards ways you can move past each level...When I can get the diagram scanned,I will post it along with a summary of the information they give...I highly recommend all of Dan Millman's books for anyone who is still seeking their path and on the begiinning stage of discovering spiritual wisdom.
hey all, I spent yesterday at the doctor's office for a physical.While i was waiting I tried to slow my breathing and contemplate on our recent dicussion about how the Force contains both light and dark sides and I was quite amazed at how easily it came with all the hustle and bustle that was around me. I use a cane that i black with a black plastic handle that is molded to fit my hand. As I was meditating I couldn't help but notice how the Light was reflecting off the handle of my cane and for that one moment it was clear to me that if I took either the Light or the black(dark) away from the cane I would not have the fullness of the cane...and suddenly I undersstood the same about the Force...I continued my meditation for a few moments then I picked up the book I brought with me "Sacred Journey of the Peaceful Warrior" by Dan Millman and was reading when I came across another insight..."The Real Voyage of Discovery Consists not in Seeking New Landscapes,but in having New Eyes"....a quote from Marcel Proust that was used in the book. I found this quote to be interesting because it seems like since I began the Jedi Path more and more I see things in a new way...any comments are always appreciated
