what is the Dark Side? in the fictional movies, it was characterized as the conduction of one's hatred and fear into a weapon thrusted upon others. is this really what the Dark Side represents? i think that the Dark Side is one's emotions focused onto a single cause, engulfing the person into the encounter and consuming him/her in the moment. it is at this time that the deed is made into a haynis crime or a passionate outburst. who's place is it to judge the actions of those who wish to feed on their emotions? such can be a strength as well as a faully. it is a matter of how the events are played out and the actions taken as well as how such affect those around us. we are conduits. generators of emotion that must release and channel that which give us joy as well as sorrow. only then can we understand. what is the Dark Side? it is our deepest emotions recklessly released upon the world around us. to control our emotions is how we grant ourselves ultimate power.

I agree Br. Shaun I would also describe the Dark side, like all its counterparts, as being a philosphy of life. It is one way of seeing life`s problems and its solutions. Letting oneself be consumed in the moment is without a doubt a way of living out the Dark side, one in which the doer looses himself. Furies are an example of mythical beings who let themselves be consumed by reaping havoc on the world. Another dark side philosophy would on the other side draw on the strengths of emotions to achieve what is wanted, leaving the person in tact. To live out emotions openly, reveal emotions would be considered as a sign of weakness.

I think the dark side is when you deal in absolutes. One way or the other. When you give some one an ultimatum like its either my way or no way. Pretty much against everything jediism represents. Knowledge is jedi, ignorance is the dark side.

Lol. From what I`ve seen I would hardly call our our Brothers and Sisters from the Darkside ignorant. Quite the opposite.

oh no not at all master jedi, i was just simply stating my view of dark side in general, and i am new and have much, much to learn. not to say that they are ignorant. if that makes sense.

Ignorance comes from not knowing. I agree with Master Jon about our Brothers and Sisters of the darkside being ignorant, but rather highly intelligent.
